Prof. Tal Oron-Gilad: Expert in Human Factors Engineering

Dr. Tal Oron-Gilad
  • Full professor at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, in the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
  • Currently the Deputy-Dean, previously the Vice-dean for research in the Engineering sciences faculty
  • I hold the George Shrut Chair in Human Performance Management.
My area of expertise is human factors engineering, interaction design for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems, Human-Robot Interaction, Interaction techniques for socially assistive robotics, and decision support systems in transportation and operational domains.
Recently, I have been working on UX for mobility and pedestrian behavior.
 
As systems become more intelligent and autonomous, the interaction design challenge increases, and more emphasis is required on mutual understanding and shared communication.
