About Tal

Dr. Tal Oron-Gilad
I am currently the chair of the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
My area of expertise is human factors engineering, human-automation interaction, and decision support systems in the domains of traffic safety, homeland security, and assistive robotics.
In this site I publish and discuss my research interests, laboratories, and publications.
 Education
I have a MSc. degree in Industrial Engineering from the Technion, and a Ph.D. from Ben-Gurion University. Following that, I was a research associate for several years  in the Institute for Simulation and Training at the University of Central Florida.
Since 2006, I am a faculty member in Ben-Gurion University, Department of Industrial Engineering and Management.
Academic affairs
As of 2015, I am the Chair for the Industrial Engineering and Management department  in BGU, the largest IEM department in Israel with over 1000 students.
Since 2009-2016, I was the Head of the Human Factors Engineering Graduate track at BGU.
 
Awards
  • UVID 2013 Award for best articles in Man Machine and Human Factors Engineering in Unmanned systems.
  • Andrew P. Sage Best IEEE Transactions Paper Award 2007.
  • The George E. Briggs best dissertation award, Division 21, American Psychological Association, 2004.
  • Dr. Gabi and Eng. Max Lichtenberg Career Development Chair in Engineering Sciences at BGU, awarded June 2008.
